Advice and Recommendations
The MAB provides various types of advice to the RCMP Commissioner on the administration and management of the RCMP.
Advisory Reports
Advisory reports generated by the MAB outline findings and make recommendations to the RCMP. The RCMP must provide a written response to each recommendation. MAB receives regular updates on how the recommendations are being actioned.
Report on the Cadet Training Program (June 2022)
Management Advisory Board’s Training and Education Taskforce recognizes and appreciates the importance of the RCMP within Canada and internationally. As such, it sought to support the RCMP’s commitment to evolve and modernize through conducting the following analysis of the Cadet Training Program and developing recommendations in relation to key transformations.

The MAB provided advice to the Commissioner in the following letters.
Letter to Commissioner Duheme regarding Police Intervention Techniques (June 2023)
Management Advisory Board's collective advice provided to the RCMP Commissioner on use of less than lethal police intervention techniques, including the Carotid Control Technique. This advice is in relation to the mandate letters that were issued to both the RCMP Commissioner and the Minister of Public Safety signaling the RCMP to prohibit the “use of any neck restraints in any circumstance, along with a prohibition of the use of tear gas and rubber bullets for crowd control […].”
Letter to Commissioner Duheme regarding the externalization of the Independent Centre for Harassment Resolution (July 2023)
Management Advisory Board’s collective advice provided to the RCMP Commissioner on the externalization of the Independent Centre for Harassment Resolution (ICHR) in relation to the Minister of Public Safety mandate letter commitment.
