Delays — Processing incoming complaints

We are currently experiencing delays in processing complaints. We are currently contacting taxpayers and processing complaints received for the week of January 2–5, 2024. If you feel that your situation is urgent, please call us directly at 1-866-586-3839.

At the Office of the Taxpayers' Ombudsperson, we are committed to providing you the best possible service.


Our goal is to:

  • contact you within five business days after receiving your complaint, 95% of the time
  • complete an examination of your complaint within 120 days of it being assigned to an examination officer, 80% of the time
