Digital communications and collaboration
Digital technology is continually transforming the way Canadians live and work, and underscores the critical need for the Government of Canada (GC) to improve its digital capabilities.
A key component of the work of public servants is the ability to communicate and collaborate in a secure and accessible fashion. This is why Shared Services Canada (SSC) aims to provide enterprise communication and collaboration tools to ensure the GC workforce is enabled to work at any time, from anywhere.
Departments and agencies continue to rely heavily on email communications to support the delivery of programs and services. SSC delivers efficient and reliable email services to its partners and clients as part of a whole-of-government approach to information technology. SSC is currently modernizing the GC’s digital platform with cloud-based Microsoft 365 (M365). M365 will improve the way public servants communicate through video, chat and real-time collaboration with their colleagues and strengthen the delivery of programs and services to Canadians.
