Post-Secondary Recruitment
Service interruption
The GC Jobs website may experience some interruptions from 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 to 2 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 (EST). During this time, you may experience issues when searching and applying for jobs or when taking online tests.
Thank you for your understanding.
The Post-Secondary Recruitment Program is being reviewed to better meet the needs of graduates and federal public service hiring managers. As a result, there will be no recruitment campaign in the fall of 2023.
In the meantime, visit GC Jobs regularly for a wide variety of other job opportunities in the federal public service. Sign up to receive email alerts that match your employment interests.

Application status – Explanation of terms
Results Available: The date by which you will be able to view the initial status of your application.
Included in Inventory: This confirms that your application was received and registered in the system. However, it does not mean that you successfully passed the required tests.
Referred: This confirms that your application has been forwarded to a hiring department or agency. If you are selected for further assessment, they will contact you to explain the next steps in the assessment process.
Cancelled: A hiring department or agency may choose to cancel a job opportunity for various reasons.
Assessment accommodation
At every step of the process, from the application to the end of the assessment, you can request accommodation measures or adjustments, depending on the type of assessment. These measures can include: accessible environments, different formats, larger fonts, adaptive technology, extra time, individual testing and more. Accommodation measures are designed to remove barriers to ensure a fair assessment by allowing candidates to fully demonstrate their competencies.
To learn more about accommodation measures, please visit the Assessment accommodations website.
What you need to know about post-secondary recruitment testing
After applying, you may receive an invitation to write an online test or another type of assessment. These invitations will be emailed to you and will include a response deadline.
Wondering how you can provide detailed and concrete examples on how you meet experience qualifications? You don’t have to use it, but the STAR method could help!
Creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued begins with self-declaration. Count yourself in and self-declare by identifying to which employment equity group(s) you belong to. Some hiring organizations, based on their needs, may limit the selection of candidates to members of these designated groups.
Eliminate the stress and try out the self-assessment tests for written expression and reading comprehension in your second language before you take the official tests.
