    Investigation into non-travel related Cyclospora infections
    • Each spring and summer, Canada sees an increase in non-travel related Cyclospora illnesses reported to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). Between May and September 2023, 398 cases were reported to PHAC occurring in Ontario (328), Quebec (46), British Columbia (21), Newfoundland and Labrador (2) and Nova Scotia (1). The source or sources of illnesses were not identified. PHAC continues to work with its public health and food safety partners to identify possible ways Cyclospora infections occur in Canada each year.
