About Canada's CPHO
Canada's Chief Public Health Officer is the federal government's lead public health professional. The CPHO advises the Health Minister and the President of the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). The CPHO also provides guidance for the work of PHAC and plays a leadership role in helping Canada to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies, working with provincial, territorial and international partners. The CPHO works to ensure that all people in Canada have an equal opportunity to be healthy and well.
