Deputy Minister champions and committees
Services and information
Deputy Minister champions
Deputy Minister champions provide support and guidance to various communities or programs from a strategic level and build awareness of and advance issues.
Deputy Minister committees
The Clerk of the Privy Council chairs three Deputy Minister Committees which:
• Advance the management agenda and the renewal of the Public Service;
• Function as the human resources committee for the senior executive cadre of the Public Service; and
• Discuss the implementation of the Government’s policy agenda and priorities.
In addition to these Clerk-chaired Deputy Minister Committees, Deputy Ministers sit on various policy and operational committees to advance the implementation of the Government’s agenda in an integrated way and strengthen government-wide policy coherence. These committees focus on issues such as economic growth, the net-zero economy, social well-being, digital government, Indigenous reconciliation, international affairs, national security, and more. Departments provide secretariat and policy support for these committees.
