YuWala Marine Charters is bringing people where they need to go while showcasing the beauty of the Central Coast.
Heiltsuk-owned YuWala Marine Charters offers the opportunity to enjoy Bella Bella’s wildlife and ecosystems with the world and provides an important historical perspective.
YuWala offers marine charters to facilitate travel between Central Coast communities as well as providing Indigenous heritage and eco-tours.
The tours showcase quintessential Central Coast landscapes, old growth forests, and abundant wildlife while providing historical interpretation and cultural sharing by experienced and knowledgeable Heiltsuk guides.
This allows visitors and locals alike to experience the beauty of B.C.’s Central Coast while learning about the local history and cultures of Bella Bella within the surrounding communities.
$99,999 in PacifiCan funding through the Tourism Relief Fund helps YuWala Marine Charters continue to provide transportation and tours throughout the Central Coast by:
- Maintaining and creating jobs for Indigenous peoples and Indigenous youth
- Upgrading critical assets used to support their tourism operations
- Purchasing new vessels and associated marine and fishing equipment to help expand Heiltsuk heritage and eco-tourism offerings
- Attracting domestic and international visitors
