Pay your passport fee – Canadians outside Canada and the United States
Your fees
These fees are for Canadians who are either picking up their passport or receiving it by mail outside one of the following countries:
- Canada
- the United States (including Bermuda, American Samoa, the Midway Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands)

Urgent requests
In most cases, it takes 20 business days to process a passport application.
If you need a passport urgently or in exceptional circumstances (illness or death in the family), contact the nearest Government of Canada office abroad. Additional fees will apply.

How to pay your fees
Before you pay
Remember to include your proof of payment (receipt) with your application and to keep a copy for your records. If you pay the wrong fees or don’t use one of the methods listed below, we may return your application without processing it.
Once we start processing your application, you can’t get a refund. Adult passport payments include a $25 consular fee. We’ll refund that fee if we don’t issue a passport.

To pay your fees online you need

- a printer
- a credit or debit card
- a valid email address
When you finish, you must
- print a receipt of your payment
- include it with your application
Pay in person at a Canadian embassy or consulate abroad
Payment options at Canadian embassies and consulates depend on where you apply. Before you visit an office, contact them for payment options.
