These fees are for Canadians who are either picking up their passport or receiving it by mail outside one of the following countries:

  • Canada
  • the United States (including Bermuda, American Samoa, the Midway Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands)

Urgent requests

In most cases, it takes 20 business days to process a passport application.

If you need a passport urgently or in exceptional circumstances (illness or death in the family), contact the nearest Government of Canada office abroad. Additional fees will apply.

Additional administrative fee for replacing a valid lost or stolen passport

You must pay this fee if you report a passport as lost or stolen and are applying for a replacement. This fee does not include the cost of new passport.

How to pay your fees

Before you pay

Remember to include your proof of payment (receipt) with your application and to keep a copy for your records. If you pay the wrong fees or don’t use one of the methods listed below, we may return your application without processing it.

Once we start processing your application, you can’t get a refund. Adult passport payments include a $25 consular fee. We’ll refund that fee if we don’t issue a passport.
