Description
The Social Development Partnerships Program - Disability Component (SDPP-D) aims to improve the participation and integration of persons with disabilities in all aspects of Canadian society with respect to social inclusion. Canadians with disabilities can face unique personal, social and economic barriers to participation. As a result, they may experience a diminished quality of life, with limited ability to participate in the workplace or to contribute to their communities.
Projects funded under this program will support a wide range of initiatives that address social issues and barriers experienced by persons with disabilities.
Objective
This solicited process will support disability stakeholder-led engagement activities on the Disability Inclusion Action Plan that aims to:
- improve the social and economic inclusion of Canadians with disabilities
- reduce poverty among Canadians with disabilities
- contribute to the realization of a barrier-free Canada by 2040
- improve access to federal programs and services for persons with disabilities and ensure that disability inclusion is considered in all Government programs, policies and services, and
- foster a culture of inclusion and a shift away from attitudes of ableism and discrimination
In result of this process, one partnership-based agreement will be funded.
The successful project will begin in fall 2021 and end by March 31, 2023.
