This solicited call for proposals is open from April 28, 2021 to June 9, 2021 at 3:00 pm Eastern daylight time.

Description

In 2020, Statistics Canada released a survey of the 2018 Giving, Volunteering and Participating. It provides key statistics and information about how Canadians give of their time and money.

Objective

The objective of this process is to fund 1 project to support not-for profit organizations in analyzing and disseminating the data. This will help citizens, businesses, not-for profit organizations and others to have a better evidence-based understanding of the nature of giving and volunteering in Canada.

Eligible organizations can apply for a project up to $1,000,000.

The successful project will begin in fall 2021 and end by March 31, 2025.

Organizations solicited for this funding

We determined that a solicited call for proposals was the most effective process. There are a limited amount of organizations that have the capacity to take on such a project, including:

• the expertise
• the mandate
• the capacity
• the experience

We identified 7 organizations. They have the above-mentioned expertise to do a detailed analysis of the data and share their results nationally.

The organizations identified and invited to apply under this funding are:

• Volunteer Canada
• Imagine Canada
• University of Ottawa, E=MC2 (Engagement=Mobilizing Communities and Collaboration)
• Carleton University, Carleton Centre for Community Innovation (3ci)
• Waterloo University, Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience
• The Caledon Institute of Social Policy
• Mount Royal University’s Institute for Community Prosperity

Eligible organizations may only apply once to this call.

Eligibility

This is a solicited call for proposals. It is open only to specific groups or sectors.

Eligible applicants

Groups eligible for this funding process include:

• registered charities
• government funded or publicly supported educational institutions
• research institutions
