To be eligible to apply, you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person between 16 and 24 on the closing day of the recruitment campaign.
The selection process has 3 stages:
- Online application. You will respond to multiple-choice and long-answer questions to describe your school, work and life experience, as well as your community engagement experience, aspirations and vision for Canada.
- Interview. If you are selected to proceed, you will be invited to participate in a video interview and submit your résumé with references online.
- Selection of final candidates.
Note: Security clearance. A background check will be required for final candidates as part of the selection process. Security clearance will include verification by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and Royal Canadian Mounted Police as well as an open source check (verification of the comments you have made publicly, such as on social media).
We are committed to providing an inclusive selection process. If you have little or no Internet access, experience barriers submitting your application online, or require accommodation during any phase of this process, please contact the Youth Secretariat at jeunesse-youth@pch.gc.ca or call toll free at 1-866-811-0055. All information received in relation to accommodations will be kept confidential, and requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Given the high volume of applications, we will only contact those selected at each stage.
