Operations and exercises
The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) participates in domestic and international operations. Many operations are conducted jointly with the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Army. Air Force personnel may be called upon to fly people and cargo in support of humanitarian aid or diplomatic missions, or support operations by providing air lift capability for equipment and troops, or air superiority and ground support in regions of conflict.

Exercises are structured scenarios that give the RCAF personnel and leaders the opportunity to sharpen their skills and test new tactics.
Large scenario exercises give the RCAF an opportunity to collaborate with the Canadian Army, Navy, and the militaries of other nations. International participation helps build cooperation, sharpen skills beyond our boundaries, and develop new tactical procedures. All of which increases the professional capability of our air force.
